Coach Orlando Wellington has urged support for the Ghana U-20 team in their return encounter against Uganda.
The Black Satellites were humbled 3-1 in the first leg of the African Youth Championship qualifiers last weekend in Nakivubo.
The team needs to overturn this deficit to ensure progress in the qualifiers of which Wellington who resigned from the post after a string of poor results believes will not come cheap and thus wants absolute support for the team.
ââ¬ÅFootball has now changed a lot. The East Africans now also know how to play,â⬠he told Kumasi-based Dove FM.
ââ¬ÅI am talking to you as a former coach of the side, people tend to forget that football is developing everywhere.
ââ¬ÅThose days when Ghana is going to play against such teams people already believe we have won the game but it is not so now.
ââ¬ÅThey are willing to do and à die and get the result to make them famous and therefore will come fighting.
ââ¬ÅThere is no cheap team again and in my opinion everybody has to rally behind the team. Support alone can see the team progress.
ââ¬ÅIf left to me alone, no fee should be charged at the gates to ensure that the team gets the needed support to ensure they win.ââ¬
The Black Satellites have been struggling to regain the spark that made them Wafu, African and World Champions in 2009.
They aim to avoid another embarrassment by accounting for Uganda in the second leg expected to be played at the Tamale Sports Stadium in a fortnight.
The winner of the tie will face either Morocco or Gambia in the ultimate qualifier for a place in next yearââ¬â¢s finals to be hosted by Algeria.
