Former coach of Great Olympics George Prince Koffie has touted Hearts of Oak as favourites to clinch the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Hearts of Oak have not had a consistent campaign after 8 round of matches, amassing lost to Berekum Chelsea, Medeama SC and rivals Asante Kotoko.

The Phobians have managed 11 points from 8 games to occupy 9th spot.

Despite their indifferent start to the campaign, coach Koffie believes they are his top-most candidate to win the league title.

"We still have a long way to go and looking at the trend, it will be very difficult for me to state categorically that this team or that team will be winning the league because some teams may be doing very well now but won’t fare well in the second round,” he told Ghanaweb.com

"But if I want to presume then I can say Accra Hearts of Oak, looking at what they are doing now, the crop of players they have and the kind of professionalism they have attached to the team I believe that they can make amends and then go all out to win the league.”

Hearts of Oak have a tricky duel against Aduana Stars in Week 9 of the ongoing campaign at the Dormaa Nana Agyemang Badu I Park on Sunday.
