Former AC Milan striker Maurizio Ganz believes the club’s pursuit of Alfred Duncan is useless as they boast of his type of midfielders.

The Rossoneri are reported to have enquired about the availability of the US Sassuolo ace as they aim to bolster their midfielder ahead of the second round of the campaign.

But reports indicate that the capital-based outfit will have to fork out €20 million for the enforcer.

However, Sanz believes the acquisition of the Ghana international will be waste of space as Gennaro Gattuso’s side have the same type of midfielders in their rank.

“With the current Milan midfield, with players such as Bakayoko and Kessie, the space for Duncan, which has similar characteristics, would be little and it seems a rather useless negotiation,” Sanz told SportItalia.

Duncan has been in sublime form for the Mapei Stadium outfit in the ongoing, scoring three goals in 12 games.
