EXCLUSIVE: Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Mitch Apau joins Slovan Bratislava on three-year deal

Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Mitch Apau has signed a three-year contract with Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 28-year-old has joined from Slovenian side NK Olimpija Ljubljana where he spent just a season.

The highly-rated defender played all 36 games as NK Olimpija Ljubljana clinched the double last term.

“We need to reinforce right side of our defensive formation. We signed Mitch Apau, who had very good season in Slovenia. Our scouting department followed Mitch for all season, he performed well and stable. He uses his physical assumptions, is strong and vigorous in defensive duels. We signed contract for three years with him,” said Ivan Kmotrík, general director of club.

The Ghanaian also said: “I am very happy to be part of this big club. Last year, I won double in Slovenia. My goal is to win trophies and that´s the reason, why I am here. I already saw the new stadium of Slovan, its going to be beautiful. I will do my best to make fans happy and help club to successes.”

The defender is itching to represent Ghana on the international stage.
