FC St Gallen star Majeed Ashimeru will miss Ghana's CAF U23 Cup of Nations penultimate qualifying round tie against Gabon this month due to injury, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report.

GHANASoccernet.com understands he suffered a cut on his leg during the league match against Lugano on Saturday and later received surgical sutures.

The talented midfielder has withdrawn from the squad and has stayed with the club for treatment.

He has been ruled out for two weeks.

Ashimeru has been of one stand out players in the Swiss Super League this term with two goals; four assists in 23 appearances.

Meanwhile, the Ghana U23 team continued preparations on Tuesday at the Accra Sports with foreign-based stars on board.
