EXCLUSIVE: Konadu asked to take charge of Black Meteors, set to lose Local Black post
Maxwell Konadu

The Normalisation Committee of the Ghana FA has compounded the misery of title-winning coach Maxwell Konadu by demoting him to the national U23 side Black Meteors and removing him from his substantive job as the Local Stars coach, Ghanasoccernet.com can reveal.

This comes just under 24 hours of him being sacked as one of the two assistant coaches of the Black Stars with just four months to the African Cup of Nations.

Konadu was asked by the Normalidation Committee to focus on the country's u23 side and help them qualify for the All African Games and Olympic Games.

He has asked to be given time to consider his demotion  with his family before deciding whether to accept the new reality of coaching the lower national team.

Former Asante Kotoko head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani is reportedly set to take over reins from Maxwell Konadu as Black Stars assistant coach with four months to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Dramani who is the assistant coach of Danish side Nordsjaelland will be joining head coach Kwesi Appiah on the technical bench alongside Ibrahim Tanko.

The former Wa AllStars and Asante Kotoko coach, Konadu, who also doubles as the head coach of the Local Black Stars, has been asked by the GFA Normalization Committee to focus on the home-based national team.

The development will serve as a shock for Maxwell Konadu who was working to end Ghana's trophy drought in Egypt with the rest of the technical team.

Konadu's biggest feat was guiding the Black Stars B to place finish in the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in 2015 and he was also the coach of the team when they won the WAFU championship in 2017

The former national under-17 female coach, Didi Dramani took over from Maxwell Konadu at Asante Kotoko in 2012 after GFA appointed Konadu as Black Stars assistant gaffer.
