Italian side U.S Lecce have identified Ghanaian midfielder Godfred Donsah as a key transfer target in the ongoing January transfer window, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.

Donsah, 23, left Bologna to join Belgian Jupilar Pro League newcomers Cercle Brugge on a season-long loan with a reported €5m option to buy.

But the Ghanaian stay in Belgium could be truncated as Lecce appear to have made him a prime target in the ongoing winter transfer window.

The Giallorossi are reported to be eager on bolstering their midfield options in the second half of the season, and coach Fabio Liverani has identified the former Cagliari player as the man to give that lift.

Lecce are just a point adrift of the relegation zone with 15 points after 15 round of matches.

Donsah has spent practically his entire career in Italy, starting out at the Palermo youth academy in January 2012.

He moved on to Verona and Cagliari, before joining Bologna for €7m in 2015.

The Ghanaian’s early performances saw him linked with Inter, but he managed only seven competitive appearances for the Rossoblu last season.
