Ghana midfielder Cofie Bekoe has been declared eligible to play for SK Lierse in the Belgian top flight by Fifa, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 23-year old walked out on Egyptian Premier League side Petrojet due to unpaid wages for months.

But the Suez-based contested his move and claimed the right to a free transfer but the world governing body Fifa has now declared him a free agent.

Bekoe, nicknamed "Africa Messi'', during his stay in Egypt has been training with Lierse since August.

The former Nania FC player is now set to complete his paperwork and begin a career for the first time in Europe.

Bekoe has signed a two year contract with Lierse.
