Fiorentina are getting closer to confirming the signing of Barcelona forward Cristian Tello.
The Viola have identified the 24-year-old as a player who could help the club in their Serie A title challenge, as they look to close the six point gap between themselves and league leaders Napoli.
According to La Nazione, Fiorentina have made major progress in the last 24 hours which could prove crucial in the transfer’s progression.
Tello is currently on loan with Portugal’s Porto, although Fiorentina apparently now have it confirmed that the club would be willing to terminate the player’s stay six months early.
If Porto release their control of the player, then Paulo Sousa’s side will be free to enter negotiations with Barcelona, and attempt to strike their favoured deal of an initial loan, followed by a permanent transfer in the summer.
Spain international Tello netted seven times in the league for Porto last season, but is yet to his the net this term.
