Fiorentina defender set for summer exit

Fiorentina look set to lose one of their key squad members come the end of the season in Facundo Roncaglia, who will let his contract run out with the Viola.

The versatile Argentinian international was on the verge of a switch to French side Olympique de Marseille last August before talks dramatically broke down, though will now finally call time on his Tuscan adventure.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb.com, Roncaglia’s agent has already received several offers from numerous European sides in addition to clubs from the Chinese Super League.

The report further states that the 29-year-old is willing to consider any offer from the far east because of the impressive wages that they could guarantee him.

Fiorentina, however, will not try to keep Roncaglia from leaving, as coach Paulo Sousa is believed to be looking for a younger talent, with hints pointing in favour of River Plate’s Emanuel Mammana, whom they previously approached in the January transfer window.

Roncaglia has accumulated 24 Serie A appearances with the Viola in the current campaign, making for a total of 74 with the club since his arrival from Boca Juniors in 2012.
