Newly-promoted Ghana Premier League side Eleven Wonders have reached an agreement to sign former Berekum Chelsea captain Mohammed Abdul Basit on a short-term deal.

Basit is said to have put pen to paper to a six-month contract.

''It is in our plans to sign the player for more years but the midfielder believes he is bent on leaving the the country in the near future,'' the club's communication director Richard Ntow Gyan is quoted by sportsnewsgh.com.

Basit returned home after playing for Lithuanian top-flight side Stumbras.

He captained Berekum Chelsea to win the 2011 Ghana Premier League and led them to reach the Group stage of the CAF Champions League the following year.
