Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has blasted Ghana defender Daniel Amartey following his lackluster performance for Leicester City in their opening day defeat to the Red Devils. 

 

The Ghana international committed a foul, which led to a penalty and handed Manchester United the advantage just three minutes into the game.

The former Copenhagen defender struggled throughout the rest of the 60 minutes he played, and had to be taken off the game by manager Claude Puel.

Schmeichel, who son in the goalkeeper of Leicester City was very disappointed in the performance of the Ghanaian.

“Amartey had a terrible game. I was surprised he took him off in the second half. He should have taken off in the first half,” he told SuperSports.

In the game, Paul Pogba scored from the spot kick in the 3 minute, before Luke Shaw doubled the lead for Manchester United.

But substitute, Jamie Vardy scored a face saving goal for Leicester City in the 90 minute.
