Trouble brewing for Randy Abbey

The history of Ghana football is to be given a dramatic turn after four top officials of the Ghana Football Association disclose their readiness to testify against former Ghana FA Spokesperson Randy Abbey in court for taking money from them but failing to execute its intended purpose.

The Metro TV ‘Good Morning Ghana’ show host is believed to have syphoned an amount of GHC30,000 from the four top officials of the FA in 2012 to aid former President John Mahama in his campaign.

The shocking revelation was made by former management member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Edmund Ackah on Asempa FM on Thursday.

“Randy Abbey claims he is the person to solve problems in Ghana football. He should be the last person to speak. He has no moral authority over football matters,” Ackah said on Asempa FM.

“This Randy Abbey was neck-deep in the affairs of the federation and today he is deviously trying to make certain claims against Kwesi Nyantakyi just for political capital over the GFA leadership position.

“Isn’t this the same man who asked members of the Executive Committee to contribute their own monies to aid John Mahama’s campaign during a meeting of the GFA?

“In this country we won’t allow such people to come and deceive claiming they are the best people for football. We have got long memories and as long as we are alive we won’t allow such people to deceive to the public,” Ackah puffed.

But Randy Abbey in a reaction on the same show denied the allegation which has angered the four officials who gave him the money to hint of their readiness to testify against him.

GHANAsoccernet understands that three of the members paid GHC5000 each with one adding the remaining GHC15,000 to round up a GHC30,000 figure.

Despite given him the money, the four officials believe that Randy never used the money to serve its intended purpose as a call he said will come from the former president’s wife to show appreciation is taking forever to come.

The former Hearts of Oak representative at the GFA recently called for change in leadership at the Ghana FA claiming football is declining at an alarming rate.

Football loving Ghanaian are patiently waiting for Randy Abbey to knock the balls of the four FA officials who were involved by taking the matter to court to ignite them to testify against him.
