The Black Stars began their training on Tuesday in Kumasi without defender Harrison Afful though he was present at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The 28-year-old arrived in Ghana on Monday night and could not travel to Kumasi on time to start training with Kwesi Appiah's men.

While the left-back watched the session from the touchline, the rest of the squad, 21, actively began training and finished the session.

The Esperance versatile full-back was given permission by head coach James Kwesi Appiah to stay out of the opening session but is expected to join in Wednesday's session.

Afful's availability will leave only two players yet to report in camp - Andre Ayew and Abdul Majeed Waris who had to compete his move to Turkish outfit Trabzonspor on the transfer deadline day.
