Galliani: Balotelli has not done enough to remain at AC Milan

Published on: 08 April 2016

AC Milan’s vice-president Adriano Galliani is still unconvinced as to whether on-loan striker Mario Balotelli should remain with the club, but has still challenged the forward to prove himself.

After previously struggling at parent club Liverpool, Balotelli returned to Milan for a season-long loan in the summer, but has since found it difficult to break into Sinisa Mihajlovic’s first team and has also been hampered by several injury problems.

“Mario is well and has a crazy desire to remain at Milan,” Galliani told Bosch TEC.

“Of course, I hope he proves that desire on the pitch, but I told him that based on what he’s done so far, he doesn’t deserve to stay here.

“However, I told him to convince us to keep him. He promised me that he will, and I hope he does because we love him.”

So far this season, the 25-year-old has played just 17 times in all competitions, scoring a meagre three goals in the process.
