Garcia hails Hornets threat

Javi Gracia felt Watford's attacking threat was behind a 3-1 win away at Burnley.

Andre Gray put the Hornets in front after just three minutes, Watford's first away goal in the league since January.

Victorious in their opener against Brighton, Garcia's side have taken a perfect six points from six in a bright start to the season.

Gray, who left Burnley for Watford in August 2017, produced a brilliant volley from Troy Deeney's cross to fire his side in front.

We scored three and we have done better than last season.

Burnley were soon on terms, defender James Tarkowski heading home his first Clarets goal.

Watford seized the initiative straight after half-time. Skipper Deeney was in the right place to steer home Abdoulaye Doucoure's cross and Will Hughes then took advantage of a misplaced pass from Matt Lowton's loose pass to make it 3-1.

Having failed to win in their previous 12 away games it was a big result for Watford. Manager Garcia says it is important to look forward.

"We scored three and we have done better than last season. But I don't like to look back at the statistics of last season; I prefer to enjoy the moment. We did a good job and I'm very happy for the players," he said.

"It is important the amount of goals but the quality as well. Today the strikers Troy Deeney and Andre Gray scored which is very important for them and the team. Will Hughes scored an outstanding goal. I am happy for all of them.

"All the players are working a lot. Troy for example has a brilliant attitude in every training session and we will try to keep that in the next games."

Watford are 6/4 to beat Crystal Palace at home next Sunday. The Eagles are 15/8 and the draw is priced at 11/5.
