Genoa game could decide Roma coach’s future

Published on: 20 December 2015

Roma’s upcoming game against Genoa takes on a much greater significance as it could potentially decide Rudi Garcia’s future as coach of the club.

The Frenchman has come under intense scrutiny following the Giallorossi’s dismal performances of late which included a defeat to Serie B side Spezia in the Coppa Italia. The 51-year-old will have to count on his players to get all three points against il Grifone if he is to have any chance of salvaging his job.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a loss against Genoa could signal the end of Garcia’s tenure as coach of the Lupi.

It is also reported that club president James Pallotta is already considering potential candidates to take over the hot seat at Roma.

Those potential candidates include Marcello Lippi, Marcelo Bielsa and former Roma bosses Fabio Capello and Luciano Spalletti.
