GFA Presidency: Five candidates pick up nomination forms

Ghana’s leading football website GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm that five of the aspirants competing for the Ghana Football Association presidency have picked up their nomination forms to contest for the seat.

The aspirants have up to close off day Friday September, 20 to submit the forms to the Elections Committee which is headed by Dr Kofi Amoah.

According to our checks, President of Dreams FC, Kurt Okraku, Wilfred Osei Palmer of Tema Youth, former Vice President George Afriyie, Dr Toni Aubynn, Sports Journalist with Happy FM Mac Paradise Okocha  have all picked up their forms.

The aspirants will need at least five members of the football association to endorse the nomination forms before submission on Friday.

The cost of the GFA Presidential forms has been pegged at GH 5,000 while that of the Executive Council is capped at GH 2,500.

Reports indicate that George Afriyie picked up his nomination form on Monday at the premises of the FA having gone through the laid down formalities and is now left with filling and most importantly, securing of endorsements by five clubs from either of the divisions under the FA before submission.

Dr Toni Aubynn also picked his form on Tuesday at the Secretariat.

Other interested candidates such as Fred Pappoe, Nana Amponsah are yet to pick up their forms according to our checks.

Vetting for the qualified candidates is scheduled for September 26 to October 1 with the elections slated for October 25, 2019,in Accra.
