The Ghana League Clubs Association is under pressure to punish second-tier side Nania FC following their late withdrawal from the novelty eight-team competition.

The FA Cup holders pulled out of the competition on Thursday, just 48 hours before the commencement of the pre-season tournament citing ill-preparedness.

The umbrella body signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the teams before Saturday's games and their withdrawal could have dire consequences for the them.

Pressure is beginning to mount on the six-man Interim Management Team to descend heavily on Abedi Pele's side after they handed a stiffer punishment to Asante Kotoko for boycotting the presentation ceremony of the President's Cup on 1 July.

GHALCA later rescinded their decision after the Kumasi-based club issued a groveling apology to the association.
