Ghana captain John Mensah pays tribute to former president Mills

Ghana captain John Mensah has joined a growing list of Black Stars players to pay his  respect to ex-president John Mills who passed away on Tuesday in the capital.

The Ghanaian leadear, staunch supporter of local giants Hearts of Oak died at the 37 Military hospital after battling illess for months.

A number of Black Stars players have expressed their sorrow at the demise of the former tax law professor and the skipper of the side has paid glowing tribute to the man who inspired generations.

“On behalf of the Black Stars players, I wish to expresss my profound condolences to the bereaved family,” Mensah told Kumasi-based Fox FM.

“When I heard the news, I was shocked and speechless. It is painful but  God has a reason for everything,”

“We are all in pain but we have to support the family and encourage ourselves as one people,"

“When we went to the 2010 World Cup, he came there to advised and motivated us and that accounted for our victory against the US,”

“He was a good leader with an amazing personality. We pray to God to keep him save until we meet again.”
