Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has disclosed he is ready to give performing local players the chance to make his squad for AFCON 2019.

The former Khartoum El-Watani coach has been criticized for his continuous neglect of domestic players in his Black Stars call ups.

But Appiah maintains players who ply their trade in the local leagues will have to earn their place in the team and he is ready to send performing players to the nations cup in 2019.

"I am aware the Normalisation Committee will be starting a tournament this year for our clubs," Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah told Kessben FM.

"Between now and May, any locally-based player who impresses me will have the chance to join the Black Stars to the 2019 African Cup of Nations."

The Ghana Premier League has been suspended since the showing of the Anas expose' last June, which caught several top officials in corrupt practices.

Meanwhile, the Normalisation Committee formed by FIFA to oversee the activities of Ghana Football have revealed a domestic competition will be in place this January to engage clubs in the clubs in the local league.

"A new competition will involve all sixteen Premier League and all forty-eight Division One League clubs in the country," the normalisation committee stated last month.

The tournament will run between January 26th to April 21st.
