Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has revealed that he will use Saturday's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya to decide his final squad for the tournament.

The Black Stars take on the Harambee Stars in the final group qualifier even though both sides have already sealed their places in the tournament to be held in Egypt in June.

Coach Appiah called up five debutants for the match including UAE-based midfielder Ernest Asante and Caleb Ekuban who plays in Turkey.

Belgium-based defender Joseph Aidoo, Asante Kotoko duo of Amos Frimpong and Kwame Bonsu are the rest of the new players called into the squad.

Several key players like Captain Asamoah Gyan, Raphael Dwamena, Afriyie Acquah, Harrison Afful and Jonathan Mensah are among to give the chance for the new players to be observed.

Appiah has confirmed that he is using the chance of the dead rubber match against Kenya to decide his final squad for the tournament.

“It is an important game like any other game. Kenya is a good team and this is my last call-up so it is important we try to get a win,” Kwesi Appiah said.

“You know this is my last call-up before the AFCON so is important to use the game to look at some of the players."

Ghana are seeking to defeat Kenya as a revenge over the Harambee Stars for beating them 1-0 in Nairobi in their previous group clash last year.

The Black Stars are also seeking to finish top of the qualifying group and only a victory can guarantee them of that top place.
