Ghana coach Stevanovic wants Kevin Boateng return

Published on: 22 February 2012

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has opened the door to the return of midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng to the Black Stars.

The Serbian trainer had fallen out with the AC Milan player after Ghana’s impressive campaign at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The 23-year-old subsequently announced his decision to quit international football after sending an official notification to the Ghana FA.

The ex Partizan Belgrade coach however says he is prepared to welcome Boateng back to the side following Ghana’s disappointing campaign at the 2012 Nations Cup.

"You know very well Kevin (Boateng) sent a letter to the GFA to explain why he wants to miss sometime from national team," Stevanovic said.

"And I agree with you, with the President (Nyantakyi), myself and everyone here that we need to do everything possible to make Kevin-Prince Boateng come back to the national team."
