Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic will maintain his position despite pressure from certain quarters to have the Serbian sacked, 90 Minutes newspaper has reported.

The Serbian has been under intense pressure after failing to guide the Black Stars to end a 30-year wait for a continental title in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Ghana were eliminated by Zambia in the semi-final of the tournament despite the dominating the game but there have calls for Stevanovic to be sacked.

The popular tabloid is reporting that the 43-year-old Serbian tactician has agreed to accept 'conditions' spelt out to by the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

The Serbian is expected in town next week and will meet with the Executive Committee to peruse his technical report on the Black Stars performance at the tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The report says the former Partizan Belgrade has agreed to spend 20-25 days every month in the country to scout for local talent.

This means the scouting of Ghanaian talents abroad will suffer as the coach had spent most of time in Europe scouting players in the top European leagues.

Stevanovic will also be required to justify his player selection before the highest decision-making body of the FA.

Ghana will have to pay the Serbian US$1.8m if he is sacked because of some clauses in his contract.

Stevanovic first defeat in an official game was the match against Zambia after winning all his qualifying matches with style including difficult away matches against Sudan and Congo.

He was also instrumental in the historic 1-1 draw against England in Wembley last year while the Black Stars impressed despite losing 1-0 to Brazil in England.

The Ghana Football will state their position on the coach next Wednesday.
