Ghana defender John Boye made an injury return on Sunday afternoon as his Sivasspor side suffered a painful 1-0 defeat to Yeni Malayatspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Boye came from the bench to replace Medjani in the 53rd minute but his influence was too little too late as the home side pipped his side.

The Ghana defender has suffered a long injury keeping him on the sidelines since last season but his return looks to assure Sivasspor coach Samet Aybaba of the return of a reliable defender.

Coach Samet Aybaba has mainly depended on Vitaliy Djakov and Mattias Bjarsmyr since his dependable defender suffered a setback.

The Ghanaian international would need to fight his way into the starting line-up as the coach looks to have settled on the pair.

Boye helped the club return to the elite Division in Turkey last season after they suffered relegation two seasons ago.
