Ghana FA summons Kotoko players and technical team for hearing

The Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee has summoned players and technical team of Asante Kotoko to a meeting in Accra on Thursday.

The two-time African champions will have to explain why punitive actions should not be taken against them for snubbing the medal and trophy presentation for this year's President's Cup.

The club suffered a one-year ban and a 10,000 Ghana cedi fine from the Ghana League Clubs Association for boycotting the ceremony which was attended by the country's vice-president John Mahama.

Kotoko wrote a groveling apology to the vice-president and said sorry for their actions at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Kumasi-based side have also contested that the GHALCA has no capacity to sanction them.

Kotoko are preparing for Sunday's MTN FA Cup final against second-tier side Nania FC at the Accra Stadium on 24 July.
