Ghana striker Kwabena Owusu marked his debut for Azerbaijani giants Qarabag FK in a friendly defeat against Wisla Plock on Saturday.

Owusu signed for the Baku-based side on a three-year deal from Spanish LaLiga outfit CD Leganes on Friday.

The 22-year-old impressed in the team's training which informed coach Kurban Gurbanov to hand him a debut in the friendly encounter against Polish side Wisla Plock.

But the game did not end as Qarabag had hoped for after losing 3-2, with the Ghana international being introduced in the second half of the match.

Owusu spent the first half of the season at Segunda Division side Cordoba, where he played 17 games netting six goals.

Qarabag are topping the Azerbaijan Premier League table with 31 points after 14 games after the first round of the season.
