Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has refuted reports that he has called it quits with Nigerian giants Enyimba FC insisting he is on pre-season with the side.

Media reports in the Nigerian carried by some portals in Ghana claim the former AshGold shot stopper has ended his marriage with the former CAF Champions League winners and is set to sign for a top Ghana Premier League club.

The shocking news which hit the local scene in the early hours of Monday has been denied by Fatau who is on a pre-season tour with Enyimba.

“It’s not true I have quit the club. I am still with them. We are on pre-season and I even played yesterday (Sunday) in a preseason game for Enyimba. I was shocked when I heard the news myself,” Fatau Dauda told GHANAsoccernet.com

Enyimba is participating in the Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament, which Fatau Dauda has already kept the sticks for them in two games.

Enyimba are reported to have entered the market and swooped for Nigeria goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa – a decision that is believed to have forced Fatau to quit.

But the hardworking Ghanaian says he is still glued to his position.

Ezenwa was a free agent after his contract with FC Ifeanyiubah ended this past season.
