Ghana Premier League referees get HUGE praise after opening weekend performance
Referee William Agbovi was in-charge of the WAFA-Asante Kotoko match.

Referees Committee vice-chairman Joseph Wellington has heaped massive praise on the men in black for their performances on the opening weekend of the Ghana Premier League.

Wellington, a retired FIFA referee, scored his men the full marks after match day.

"I must commend my fellow referees for the good work they did on last weekend at the various league centres," he told Accra-based Happy FM.

"No team blamed refereeing for its defeat and I think refereeing since last season has been improving and when they keep on with the good work that they have started, it would make our league exciting."

The Ghana Premier League enters its second week this weekend with a Friday kick off between New Edubiase United and Ebusua Dwarfs at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
