Ghana signs MOU for Qatar World Cup stadium

The Ghana Football Association has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to receive one of the disassembled Qatar Fifa World Cup 2022 stadia.

The oil-rich Arab state says nine out of the ten stadia can be reduced in size after the World Cup to fit local football and community requirements and transported abroad for permanent use.

Ghana's Sports Ministry signed an agreement with their Qatar counterparts in 2009 and hope to be a beneficiary.

Several African countries have begun lobbying to benefit from the legacy of Qatar's hosting of the World Cup.
