Ghana striker Jordan Ayew has been named for his first match for English side Crystal Palace as he is on the bench for Monday night's clash against Liverpool.

The son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele joined the side on loan from Swansea City this month but was unable to play their first match.

Now coach Roy Hodgson has named the star to start on the bench for the match that is expected to be tough having spent more than a week now training and adapting to the side's methods.

Hodgson says his squad is looking "very good" and despite picking up a couple of knocks at Fulham, everyone is available.

Jordan Ayew and Max Meyer are hoping to make the matchday squad.

"The new players [Jordan Ayew and Max Meyer] are coming along in leaps and bounds as their fitness improves so we are happy with all of them to.”

Jurgen Klopp’s side go to Selhurst Park in a buoyant mood following their 4-0 opening day win over West Ham.

However, Crystal Palace also won their first game of the campaign 2-0 at promoted side Fulham.

LIVERPOOL will not find it easy against Crystal Palace tonight - and Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke and Ayew if given the chance could cause them problems.
