Ghana forward Kwabena Owusu has expressed his delight on his debut performance for QarabaÄŸ FK in their goalless draw with arch-rivals Neftci Baku in the Azerbaijani Premier League on Saturday.

Owusu joined QarabaÄŸ FK on a three-and-a-half-year contract from Spanish LaLiga side CD Leganes during the winter transfer window.

The 22-year-old hitman was handed his debut in the side's derby clash against bitterest adversaries Neftci Baku in Week 16 of the Azerbaijani top-flight league.

The Ghana international failed to produce a goal in the 19 minutes he was on the pitch but is content with his overall output.

"It wasn't easy because it's a derby match and everybody was aggressive, everybody want to win but I think it's a good game," Owusu exclusively told Azerbaijani football reporter Mehman Ashrafov.

"It's just football and in football all you need is patience and focus on what you want to do. I think it's normal."

Owusu was asked his take on his general assessment of the ambience at the stadium compared to the one he witnessed in Spain.

"Yeah I think in the Segunda B we have a lot of supporters but it's almost the same only that in Spain we have more supporters but we play the same football."

He scored six goals in 17 appearances on loan at Segunda B side Córdoba CF during the first half of the season..

Owusu has played three matches for the Black Stars since his debut in 2019.
