Ghana striker Schlupp suffers knee injury for Leicester

Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp is out for Leicester as they prepare for the visit of Barnsley.

The 19-year-old has a knee injury and is missing along with fellow strikers Steve Howard, who is suspended, and Darius Vassell, who is out for the season with cruciate ligament damage.

Schlupp was born to Ghanaian players in Hamburg, Germany but his parents moved to London when he was young.

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson will also have to do without defensive duo Sol Bamba and John Pantsil who are on African Nations Cup duty with Ivory Coast and Ghana respectively.

Full-backs Paul Konchesky and Lee Peltier recovered from knocks to play in last week's FA Cup draw with Nottingham Forest and should retain their starting places.

Academy product Liam Moore is back in contention after being cup-tied last week.
