Ghana vice-president John Mahama has paid a visit to the Black Stars camp, urging them to pull the chestnut from the blazing fire at the Nations Cup.

His Excellency landed in Libreville on Sunday afternoon and joined up with the squad in Ngouoni.

He tasked the players to build upon the 2012 silver medal winning feat in Angola and the 2010 Fifa World Cup quarter-finals berth.

"I will like you take every match like a World Cup final and play your best," Veep Mahama told the players.

"Every country came to this tournament on merit so you should avoid complacency and listen to your technical team.

"You have our support and we will do our best for you to bring us the trophy."

Ghana have trimming the rough edges in the serene atmosphere in Ngouoni after a two-week stay in Rustenburg, South Africa.

The Black Stars campaign begins on Tuesday against newcomers Botswana at the Stade Franceville.
