Coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin has expressed his excitement and delight over his appointment as the new head coach of Uganda U17.

The former Ghana U17 trainer was unveiled at the FUFA House in Mengo on Wednesday which will see him at the helm of affairs of the Uganda youth side for the next one year.

"I am happy to be here in Uganda. It's my first time of being here as a coach and I am here with a mission." he said at a press conference.

"First of all to guide the U17s in the African U17 Championship in Tanzania.

The time is very short but I have assured FUFA president that I will give the best of my short."

However, the former Asante Kotoko SC and Hearts of Oak coach insisted handling a young team requires a lot of patience to be able to be a success.

"I have worked with the youth for a long time and it requires a lot of patience. They are young and will be making mistakes but you need to be patient and get the best out of them."

The 60-year-old further called on the cooperation of all stakeholders to help me succeed on his new job.

"What I will need is the maximum cooperation of everybody because in football no one person can do it all so to be successful you need the help of everybody."
