Ghanaian Oscar Amoabeng Bonsu has failed to make the cut for Equatorial Guinea's final 23-man squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The ex Okwahu United defender was drafted into the Equatorial Guinean team in 2008 and was very confident of playing in his first Nations cup tournament.

The full back has featuring in three Fifa World Cup qualifying games.

Bonsu, 27, was named in the provisional 28 man squad for the pre-tournament camping by ex coach Henri Michel but was overlooked by new Brazilian coach Gilson Paulo.

The Ghanaian was one of the eight West Africans drafted into the co-hosts squad, whose current Fifa ranking is 150.

The Nzalang Nacional may no longer be considered minnows thanks to the influx of naturalized players coming from all corners of the globe.

As expatriates have been imported to engineer major projects, foreign players are being naturalised to boost the minnows outfit.

Beira-Mar's Javier Balboa, who once played for Spanish giants Real Madrid is among 11 Spanish born players included in the co-hosts squad.

There is a Cameroonian, a Colombian and a Nigerian born midfielder and Lawrence Sokota Doe who was hails from Liberia.

Equatorial Guinea are in Group A together with Libya, Senegal and joint favourites Senegal.
