Ghanaian midfielder Isaac Coffie says his target with Segunda B side Sporting Gijon is to help the club gain promotion to the La Liga.

Sporting Gijon had a good start to the Segunda B season but dipped a bit after some run of poor results.

However, with the arrival new manager José Alberto López Menéndez, the team seem to have had a form of revival.

Former Genoa midfielder Isaac Coffie is confident Sporting Gijon can make it back to the La Liga.

“The Spanish Liga 2 is a more complicated championship than the Italian Serie B. There is a great organization, the fields are all perfect and the teams always fight for victory, it is more difficult because the teams are almost all on the same level, there is a lot of balance,“ he told Juve news.

He added: “I’m getting very well in Spain. We started the league in positive way, then we had a decline as a team and so the club decided to change coach. With the new technician, we have achieved some victories and we hope to do well and reach the goal of the promotion “.
