Ghanaian striker Felix Adjei has signed for Austrian second-tier side SC Wiener Neustadt on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old spent last season at Swedish lower tier side Umeå FC.

Adjei is no stranger to the Austrian league where he previously played for Red Bulls Salzburg and feeder club Liefering.

He is a product of the Red Bull Soccer Academy in Sogakope before he moved to Austria as a trialist in 2009 and was handed a deal.

"Felix is particularly pleased that we were able to sign him. From the first practice, I knew that Felix could play an important role in our team and because of his human qualities, he was immediately integrated into our team," Wiener Neustadt sporting director Andreas Schicker said.

Wiener Neustadt are currently joint top of the Austrian 1. Liga with SV Ried with 38 points after 20 matches.
