Ghanaian forward Francis Afriyie has revealed that he will be joining Dutch Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam in the ongoing transfer window.

The 22-year-old joined Mexican outfit Murcielagos FC in the second round of the Clausura Liga on a two-year deal after terminating his contract with Serbian sid FK Vojvodina.

The former Bechem United went to score 8 goals in 12 games as the club failed were demoted from the second-tier league.

Reports emerged in the Mexican outlets that the Ghanaian hitman is being closely monitored by Dutch Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam who are bent on acquiring his services ahead of the coming season.

"Yes it's true that I will sign for a new club in Holland. It's Sparta Rotterdam but I'm yet to conclude negotiation with them," Afriyie told Kumasi-based Ash FM.

"After the good season I had in my debut season with Murcielagos FC they asked me to see if I can fit into their system."

When quizzed if he has any plan of finishing his career in the Ghana Premier League, Afriyie said, "After my career in Europe I will play Hearts of Oak or Kotoko before I retire from football."

He has already netted 6 goals in 5 games in pre season for Murcielagos FC as they prepare to win promotion in the coming campaign.
