American United Soccer League side Phoenix Rising are reported to have mutually terminated their contract with former Ghana youth midfielder Gladson Awako.

Awako joined the Arizona-based side on a one-year deal in 2017 after ending his four-year stay with Congolese giants Tout Puissant Mazembe.

The 28-year-old went ahead to churn out 30 appearances in all competitions but mostly as a substitute, netting once and registering five assists in the process - which was the club's third best in the campaign.

He was heavily reported to be heading the exit during the transfer window following his inability lock down regular starting berth but the club decided to keep him by handing him another one year deal in November 2018.

However, reports in the media indicate that the former Berekum Chelsea live-wire's contract has been rescinded by the club though no reason was given over the decision.

Prior to TP Mazembe, Awako starred with Ghanaian clubs Heart of Lions and Real Sportive. In 71 combined appearances with the two teams, he scored 22 goals.
