Enugu Rangers first choice goalkeeper Nana Bonsu is focusing on helping his Nigerian side go far in the CAF Confederation Cup and not obsessed with a Black Stars call-up.

 Bonsu has been consistent for Rangers in the domestic campaign and in Africa as well.

''I'm focusing now on doing well with Rangers in the CAF Confederation Cup. I always say that national team is for everybody and when the time is ripe for me, I will be there,'' he told cafonline.com in an interview.

The former Ghana U17 goalkeeper spoke about he has managed to recapture his spot after injury sidelined him for the greater part of last season.

''First of all, we are grateful to the Almighty for reaching this far. l train very well and we have worked hard as a team to reach here,'' he added.

''I had a wonderful period when we won the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title in 2016 but I was injured for a greater part of last season. I came back and made a good game against Kano Pillars in the Aiteo Cup.''

Enugu Rangers are preparing to play Tunisian side CS Sfaxien at the Stade Taïeb Mhiri on Wednesday.

He was between the sticks when they opened their campaign with a 2-0 home win over Burkinabe side Salitas two weeks ago.
