Gonzalo Higuain focused on AC Milan or is 'a good actor' - Gennaro Gattuso

Paolo Bandini says Milan are not convinced about allowing Gonzalo Higuain to join Chelsea, but the club aren't necessarily committed to him long term either.

With Gonzalo Higuain enduring an inconsistent season at Milan, the FC crew assess whether he is worth the price for top-four hopefuls Chelsea.

Gonzalo Higuain's first goal since Oct. 28 lifted goal-hungry Milan to victory and earned him a place among the top goals in Serie A on Matchday 19.

AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso says that Gonzalo Higuain has either been honest with him about wanting to stay or he is a good actor after insisting the forward has given no indication he wants to leave the Serie A club.

Higuain has been linked with a reunion with his former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea, but Gattuso says there is no sign that the former Juventus forward wants to leave the Rossoneri this winter.

"He's never been to me to say he wants to leave and I'm still waiting," Gattuso said at a news conference ahead of Wednesday's Italian Supercoppa in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia.

"I'm 90 percent sure Higuain will play. I'm basing this purely on what I see from him in training, and he's looking good and an integral part of the squad. Either that or he's a good actor."

Gattuso has nevertheless not ruled out Higuain earning an Oscar nomination, considering the appeal of playing once again for Sarri, for whom he scored a Serie A record 36 goals in a single season.

"It's never easy to change a sportsman's mind," Gattuso added. "But I just have to think about fielding the strongest team and then we'll see what happens.

"I didn't even want to talk about Higuain at the beginning because it's not correct when we are here to talk about the Supercoppa. I'd not be hurt [if he did leave]. I was a footballer too and there are moments when we can't judge what is going through people's minds.

"Everyone can see it in a different way, but let's see what happens and now let's enjoy this Supercoppa."
