Hearts of Oak new players promoted from Auroras join their senior team colleagues

Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have promoted three players from their youth side and the youngsters started training on Monday with the senior team.

The Auroras trio of Manaf Gumah, Philip Heymann, and goalkeeper Richard Baidoo were all present on Monday morning to start training with the senior side for the first time.

The three players have been excellent for the Phobians while playing in the third tier league which resulted in the decision to promote them for the new season.

The youngsters were delighted when they trained with the team under the guidance of assistant coach Henry Lamptey, goalkeepers’ trainer James Jerry and Team Manager Sabahn Quaye.

Midfielder Manaf enjoyed a brilliant season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 18 matches for Auroras whilst striker Heymann is the second top-scorer for the junior team having netted six goals.

Goalkeeper Baidoo kept six clean-sheets for Auroras in the Greater Accra Regional Division 2 Lower League.

The young Phobians will be aiming to stake a claim as the technical team prepares the team for the upcoming season.

Hearts started their pre-season training on Monday without their trainer Frank Nuttal, sparking concerns over the future of the Scottish coach.

Team Hearts kicked off pre-season training at the Legon Ajax Park this morning, keeping to the original scheduled date.

The Phobians went on a six-week holiday, a day after the MTN FA CUP finals, but the players have reconvened to begin preparations for the new season.

Hearts are scheduled to battle Kotoko in the return encounter of the Ghana at 60 Cup on the 24th December, 2017 at the Babayara Sports Stadium.
