Hearts of Oak coach Henry Wellington's contract has been terminated following the team's poor run in the first round of the Zylofon Cash Premier League.

The former assistant coach of Kotoko has paid the price for a hugely unconvincing campaign that has left his side, in 12th place on the table, a position considered untenable by the Hearts hierarchy.

The Phobians are just three points from safety.

Goalkeepers trainer Jerry Adjei has also been sacked.

Wellington was appointed interim coach ahead of the start of the season after Scottish trainer Frank Nuttall was fired for unsporting and unethical behaviour.

Head coach of U-20 team, Auroras, Seth Hoffman has been promoted to take temporary charge of the senior team until a substantive coach is appointed.

Wellington's assistant Nii Dodoo Odoom has been reassigned to the U-20 team.
