Hearts of Oak will begin their pre-season exercise on August 13 ahead of the next soccer season, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

Hearts have twice postponed the start of their pre-season training exercise due to the unavailability of their head coach CK Akunnor.

The former Ghana skipper is currently in Germany for a two-week coaching attachment with FC Nuremberg.

Akunnor is using the period to refresh his knowledge on the modern trends of the game in the country where he earned his legendary status during his long-standing spell with VFL Wolfsburg.

Hearts are struggling to purchase high-profile players in the transfer market ahead of next season.

The 36-year-old is expected to supervise the team’s pre-season which could take place in either Takordai or neighbouring Togo.

The Phobians have not won the Premier League in the past three seasons and are determined to reclaim the crown from their sworn-rivals Asante Kotoko.
