The Ghana Football Association has sacked U-23 Coach Ibrahim Tanko.

The football federation dissolved all the technical teams of the various national teams including the U-23 team on Thursday evening.

Ibrahim Tanko's sacking comes after the Black Meteors failed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The U-23 team finished fourth at the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations in Egypt, failing to grab one of the tickets to the global show piece.

A statement on the FA's website reads:

The Ghana Football Association  (GFA) has dissolved the technical  teams of all national teams with immediate effect.

The decision affects both male and female national teams.

The GFA extends its appreciation to all coaches and members of the respective national teams for their contributions to our teams and Ghana football.

We wish them all the best in their endeavors.
