Head coach of Immigration Ladies Douglas Addy has targeted an improvement in their fortunes ahead of the upcoming Normalisation Committee’s Special Competition.

The Normalisation Committee’s Special Competition for female clubs will begin on Saturday, March 9.

Coach Addy says he hopes his ladies will seized the opportunity to show their true character by lifting the cup following their failure to do so since the team’s inception seven years ago.

“We are doing the necessary preparations and training for the Special Competition this weekend. We have been playing friendly matches. We played against a U15 men’s side and also played Idea Ladies which we won,” Addy told Happy FM.

“Our target is to play well and announce our presence in the main league because last pseason things were difficult for us so we will organise this competition as a preparatory grounds for the main league. I have watched the other teams in our group except Police Ladies and I’m positive that we can beat them to qualify from the group stages. Our fans should expect something good from us.”

Immigration Ladies have been paired in Group D alongside Samaria Ladies, Police Ladies and Halifax FC.

The team will play against Samaria Ladies in the opening fixture of the competition at the Carl Reindorf Park on Saturday.
