Ghana forward Majeed Waris was on target for Nantes FC in their 2-0 victory over Montpellier in the French Ligue 1 on Tuesday night.

Waris, who joined the Canaries on loan from Portuguese giants FC Porto in the summer, had to wait for his 12th appearance before opening his scoring account for the side.

The 27-year-old broke his scoring duck in October during Vahid Halilhodzic side's 3-0 thrashing of Montpellier in the French Cup.

Waris struck the dagger into the hearts of Montpellier fans once again as he fetched the opener for his side on the 62nd minute at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Tuesday.

The Ghanaian beautifully controlled a strongly hit pass from Valentin Rongier inside the box and cut inside his marker before he rifles the ball low into the middle of the goal.

Nantes sealed the win in the 81st minute through Nicolas Pallois' bullet header.

Waris enjoyed full throttle of the match likewise compatriot Enock Kwateng.

He has recorded one assist and two goals in 17 appearances as they sit 11th on the standing with 23 points after 18 games.
