Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom is backing the national Under-20 team to win the 2011 African Youth Championship in South Africa.

The Black Satellites have been tipped by many to defend the trophy they won in Rwanda in 2009 following a roller coaster run in the qualifying round.

The team is paired in Group B with powerhouses Nigeria, Cameroon and Gambia in Group B.

But the Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk right-back, a member of the 2009 winning team, is sure the current generation can replicate their achievement.

"I know it’s going to be very tough but if they believe in themselves and work for each other they will win the championship," Inkoom said.

"It’s a big challenge to them to emulate what we did in 2009 and that’s where they must remain focus because they’ll get our total support as Ghanaians and that will be huge. I expect them to win and I have no doubt about that."
