Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has returned to training after shaking off injury doubts ahead of the new Italian serie A season.

The Inter Milan star was reported to have suffered an ankle bruise over the weekend in the International Champions Cup final against Atletico Madrid. A game the Italians won 1-0.

However, the Ghana international, who joined the Nerazurris in the summer on a three year deal is back at training and looks poised for the season opener against Sassuolo on Sunday.

He posted on Twitter,"Enjoying training this week, ahead of the new season."

He has quickly established himself in Luciano Spalleti's squad, exerting his influence and showcasing his unique talent in pre-season.

The Ghanaian has enjoyed a terrific preseason with the Nerazzurri, showing immense work ethics and becoming a staple of the Inter side ahead of the new campaign.

The former Udinese midfield kingpin is expected to play a key role in the Inter team this season, with the club's return to the Champions League for the first time in six years.

The 29 year old has been played in a more advanced role in preseason and he is expected to line up in that position this season.

He faces compatriots Kevin Prince Boateng and Alfred Duncan on Sunday in Sassuolo.
